OCSS Conference Call for Proposals
The 2025 Oklahoma Council for the Social Studies (OCSS) Annual Conference will take place on Monday, September 29th, at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. This year’s theme—“When in the course of human events…”—invites us to reflect on pivotal moments in history and the power of civic engagement, both past and present. Submit a proposal here by August 15, 2025.
NCSS International Assembly Annual Meeting 2025
The NCSS International Assembly invites scholars to submit a proposal to participate in the 2025 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C on December 5th. Presenters can choose to participate either in a discussion-focused roundtable presentation or in a formal paper session. Proposals can now be submitted through May 31here.
Summer Virtual Conference Methods Professor Special
Registration is currently openfor the NCSS Summer Virtual Conference on the "The Power of Civil Discourse: Fostering Empathy and Understanding in the Classroom," with a special offer for Methods Professors (given on a first come, first serve basis). The Summer Virtual Conference will take place on Wednesday June 25 and Thursday, June 26. Attendees will leave with the tools and knowledge to cultivate a classroom culture that values diverse voices, encourages critical thinking, and empowers students to become active and responsible participants in a democratic society.
NCSS at NAMLE Conference 2025
The National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) and NATIONAL COUNCIL OF TEACHERS OF ENGLISH (NCTE) partnered with NAMLE to host the first Foundations of Media Literacy Cohort. In this NAMLE25 Conference session, participants in the cohort will share insights they gained from learning together and implementing media literacy lessons in their classes.
